The YPN Mission
At its core, the Young Professionals Network is designed to be a supportive, inclusive, and empowering network that contributes to shaping Nationwide’s current and future leaders. Its mission is to provide members with a fun and collaborative environment focused on four strategic pillars:

  • Mentoring: Facilitating access to senior leaders and creating opportunities for mutual learning.
  • Community Impact: Driving innovation in external partnerships and contributing meaningfully to communities.
  • Networking: Fostering professional relationships across departments and roles.
  • Development: Offering programming for professional, personal, and business skill growth.

The network specifically strives to serve associates across generations, emphasizing inclusion and ongoing value regardless of one’s career stage.


A Reason for a Rebrand
The shift from "GenY" to "Young Professionals Network" was driven by a need to remove generational barriers and ensure long-term relevance.

Two insights shaped this decision:
  • Inclusivity: Older generations felt excluded by the name “GenY.”
  • Evolving Demographics: Millennials, once the target group, are now established professionals, and new talent is emerging.

Rebranding to YPN broadens the network’s appeal—welcoming anyone committed to development, impact, and leadership, regardless of age.
The Infinity Chevron
At the heart of the rebrand is a modern new logo: the Infinity Chevron. This abstract mark blends two powerful ideas:

  • Chevron: Signifies forward movement, growth, and ambition—a visual metaphor for career progression.
  • Infinity / Hourglass: Reflects the continuous cycle of mentorship and engagement. Members begin by receiving support and eventually give back, sustaining the network across generations.
This symbol reinforces YPN’s purpose: shared leadership, lasting impact, and upward momentum. It’s a design that scales across use cases—from print to digital to merchandise—while carrying a timeless message of continuity and progress.


Beyond the Logo
The broader visual identity builds on Nationwide’s brand system, using a restrained color palette, modern typography, and clear visual hierarchy. The tone is professional yet approachable—avoiding stereotypes and instead highlighting authentic moments of collaboration and growth.

Graphic assets are carefully constructed, with consistent spacing, contrast, and application across formats. Together, these choices create a brand that feels credible, inclusive, and aligned with YPN’s mission of development, connection, and leadership.
The Brand Narrative
The YPN rebrand is not just cosmetic—it reflects a deeper shift in strategy and identity. The group is clearly positioning itself as:

  • A permanent fixture in the professional development landscape of Nationwide
  • A bridge across generations, open to all who align with its values
  • A space that offers both giving and receiving—mentorship, support, and leadership
The Infinity Chevron encapsulates this idea in a single, scalable visual, while the branding decisions ensure consistency, clarity, and alignment with the broader Nationwide brand.
